So many things where do we start? Well lets start with the context of the video I'm referring to. DMX does not regard Drake as a relevant talented rapper in today's music. I can't say I don't agree with him. I mean don't get me wrong, Drake has all the power and opportunity laid out before him but I don't believe he is using even 1/8 the talent he displayed back in his hungry underground days.
But far beyond that, DMX feels disregarded in the way that Drake has taken this Aaliyah project upon himself and failed to properly pay homage to the memory of Baby Girl by including at least some of the people with whom she was closest with in life. I can't say that I don't agree with him there either. I personally did not ever dream that Drake would not pay homage by honoring some of the greats that Aaliyah has worked with(but then again, he rolls with the Nicki camp and we see how that whole Nicki/Kim thing went down). Without them, in my eyes, it will never be a proper Aaliyah tribute. I don't care how many paparazzi shots and posters you had hanging on your walls or how many candles you lit in some adolescent boy fanatic shrine you may have had set up for her as back in the day, you can never do it better than the people who knew her best.
So with all this seems as if X is making a lot of sense. Well, actually, not really, I had to decode and decipher what he was saying between grunts and slurs. His eyes are the size of peas and he cannot keep still. We all know X has always been a very animated orator but this just does not seem the same. It's sad to think what drugs might have done to this man's life and his career. Just look at the vice grip it has on him. At this point permanent damage must have set in. We may never see the 100% old DMX ever again.
With these sad thoughts and bits of sad news I leave you to go listen to my old DMX and Aaliyah songs before Drake disgraces the memory.
And if you want to know how he really feels without all the censoring of MTV...
