Over a million views, hundreds of thousands of downloads and streams. Big Sean's "Detroit" mixtape dropped yesterday. I'm sure all of Detroit is bumping it loudly and representing for their city. Great move on his part to name it after the city I'm sure that got it some backing from the name alone. But the mixtape itself is not bad.
The mixtape starts off strong, and then I get tired of hearing Big Sean's monotone rapping voice. Well thank God for features to break it up!
Overall there are some nice songs to vibe out to, some jams you might hear at your local strippery, and just some overall fun songs with great beats and when you listen to what he says it sounds like winning, he just doesn't have a winning sound, to me.
And again, it's free so there is no complaining from me. It's worth listening to.
I like this song "Mula" featuring French Montana, but I think that's just because "mula" is a fun word to say(lol). Mula mula mUlA MuLa!!!
Side note, what is with rappers adding Biblical references to their rap songs intertwined with sex, drugs, and profanity?
